Would your husband let you swim in an indoor swimming pool or jacuzzi if you were on your period?

Jacuzzi
We are supposed to go to a hotel this weekend that has an indoor pool and jacuzzi but I’ll be having my period then and my husband won’t let me get in the water. Am I being selfish for still wanting to get in anyway? I can’t help it b/c I love jacuzzis and pools and its cool out now and I can’t go swimming outside now.

Why can’t you? It’s not like you’ll be leaking blood into the water.
What about what on his penis? Trunks are pretty roomy. He might get turned on…whatever. What if he had a cut on his arm. Would he go in then?
You aren’t being selfish…your husband is being absurd.

I’m a nurse.
Please explain to him the way a woman’s body works. The blood flow during a period naturally stops underwater. This is how women can take baths, swim, take showers without bleeding all over the place. He needs to understand that. Wear a tampon to absorb any previous bleeding, but I often go swimming without a tampon because underwater the blood flow stops. Hope that helps.
I just wanted to come back to add… it doesn’t fully stop your period. It’s a phenomenon that only occurs underwater. Once you get out of the water, Aunt Flo will be back. :D

Why is your husband telling you what you can and can’t do?

Why doesnt he let you in the water? It doesn’t really make sense. You should be able to go swimming whenever you like

As long as you have a tampax in what’s the problem?

One of the many reasons they invented tampons, right? Maybe he doesn’t understand what exactly a tampon is? I don’t see any reason why you should stay out of the water.

use a tampon? i’m a swimming teacher and a swimmer and i have to use them all the time :)
if not then dont wear anything tbh you shouldnt notice anyblood from before the water or after, depends on how heavy you are :) xx

If you wear a tampon there is absolutely NO way why you can’t go in!!!!
And if you don’t (if it’s not heavy), it’s really unlikely that you’ll leak into the water anyway- gravity means that it doesn’t really come out for a while. trust me, i’ve tried it. but if he’s really squeamish and the possibility of blood in the water bothers him, just wear a tampon. if he tells you you can’t go in in a tampon tell him to shut up and go in anyway! there’s no reason if you’re wearing one. and it’s not fair to punish you for a natural thing (having periods is punishment enough!)
