I just joined the YMCA and they have a sauna and a steam room. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the benefits of using each are and if you are going to use them, what is the best way to do it (before you work out, after, use one then the other, how long, etc.).

The usual practice is that people go swimming then go for sauna or steam room…but if I do other sports like running or tennis then go to sauna, is it ok?

I wouldn’t be the one hauking up phlem all over a sauna or steam room if I was sick, BUT, wouldn’t it help some to sit in a sauna/steam room to help relieve chest congestion?

whats the difference between a steam room and a sauna? Also what benefits to health do they give to a person?

When I go to the gym I like to get in on the steam room or sauna, I’ve notice that my face pores are open, I usually just wash my face with water but I was wondering what kind of product can I use?

I was wondering when you sit in a hot jacuzzi and steam room if you lose any weight because you are sweating so much.

I’ve always just worked out then had a shower and gone home, but some of my friends say they go into the steam room after because it relaxes your muscles, but some do it before hand. And would a sauna have more benifits than a steam room? Thanks alot for your help!
