Question by Mark12345: Does Sauna after a workout help build up your muscles?
There’s a sauna at my gym. I heard that going into the sauna after a workout in the gym helps build up you muscles. Is it true or is it just good for cleansing your pores and body?
My primary goal is not just to bulk up, but to get a good athletic body with visible muscles. The sauna takes up some time however and I feel too relaxed and sleepy after the sauna. So, should I go into the sauna after a workout?

Nope, it does not do a thing for your muscles. The dry heat of a sauna or wet heat of a steam room only serve to relax you and make your skin healthier. Steam rooms also have the added benefit of helping your lungs. Neither have anything, at all, whatsoever to do with muscle hypertrophy or fat loss.

I’m a girl and I wanna look more feminine without muscles. How can I lose them quickly? Or can I do it by going to a hot sauna?
I like to workout a lot and I also like to go into the sauna for awhile. I have plenty of water whenever I go in and I occasionally go out to take an ice cold shower then go back into the sauna. If I’m in there for over an hour, could that be harmfil to my body or my muscles at all? I workout when I’m in the sauna too like pushups, situps. I also have a bunch of oils to put in the sauna rocks if that helps at all.
Thank you.
I’ve always just worked out then had a shower and gone home, but some of my friends say they go into the steam room after because it relaxes your muscles, but some do it before hand. And would a sauna have more benifits than a steam room? Thanks alot for your help!
Last time I was at a hotel, I worked out a lot, and after being all sweaty and tired, I jumped into the pool. Worst mistake ever. I learned my lesson that cold water really messes your muscles out right after working out.
However, what if I went into a jacuzzi? Is it good? Bad? I’d like to know rather than experimenting.
I have just joined a new gym that has a sauna, steam room, and a cold room. Does anyone know when it is best to use these? I have heard it is good to switch between hot and cold as it helps the muscles recover, but I can’t seem to find anything on the internet on how to use them (time, order, etc.). Thanks.
Im lifting heavier weights and i heard when you get into the sauna after that kind of workout it makes your muscles smaller and you wont see results… True or False, and why?
