Question by Mark12345: Does Sauna after a workout help build up your muscles?
There’s a sauna at my gym. I heard that going into the sauna after a workout in the gym helps build up you muscles. Is it true or is it just good for cleansing your pores and body?
My primary goal is not just to bulk up, but to get a good athletic body with visible muscles. The sauna takes up some time however and I feel too relaxed and sleepy after the sauna. So, should I go into the sauna after a workout?

Nope, it does not do a thing for your muscles. The dry heat of a sauna or wet heat of a steam room only serve to relax you and make your skin healthier. Steam rooms also have the added benefit of helping your lungs. Neither have anything, at all, whatsoever to do with muscle hypertrophy or fat loss.

Question by Dwillis: What is the best infrared sauna on the market?
I’m in the market for an infrared sauna and can’t decide which one to purchase. I am debating between Sunlighten and Clearlight Infrared Sauna. Does anyone know which company has the better technology?

I actually just bought and infrared sauna a couple months back. It took me about 3 months of research to make a decision. I did look at both of these companies and a couple others and eventually bought a Clearlight Infrared Sauna for several reasons. First, the technology is better. Sunlighten uses a carbon heater which has great benefits, however it loses out on the benefits of the ceramic heating element. Clearlight on the other hand, uses a patented combination heater which uses both ceramic and carbon heating elements (they have the only combination heater on the market). Secondly, the sauna is beautiful and the craftsmanship was more than what I expected. Another major reason I chose Clearlight Infrared Sauna was because of their lifetime warranty on everything from the cabin to the cd player and of course the heaters. They also had amazing customer service and their website was has lots of great information. You can find them at www.infraredsauna.com. I highly recommend them.
I do have one complaint about Sunlighten.com. They talked trash about their competitors and one of their sales people told me their saunas where manufactured in the USA….maybe she was new. However, I found that their infrared saunas are manufactured in china and are the same thing as www.goldenwavesauna.com. Just look at Sunlighten’s disclaimer page.

Question by laaquisha: What are the benefits of using a sauna and how often should one use it?
I used a sauna last night and loved it so I wonder how often I should use it and how much it too much?

Besides relaxation one key benefit of the sauna is a marked increase in your body’s production of HGH.
Once a day for 20 minutes following your workouts is enough.
If you experience light headedness or stop sweating, stop immediately.
Making sure you stay hydrated is the important thing.
Enjoy!

Question by Arenkay: What benefits are there in using a sauna and how long do I have to be in there to benefit?
I’ve never been in a sauna, but my gym has one. What benefits are there in being in one and how long do you stay in to receive these benefits? Are there any added benefits if you go in right after a workout? Is it like a pool where you are supposed to shower beforehand? If you bring a book, will your book get messed up?

Question by : Will sitting in a sauna get rid of body fat and love handles?
Will sitting in a sauna get rid of body fat and love handles? If so, how many minutes do I have to stay in the sauna per day?

Sitting in a sauna will cause you to sweat. You won’t lose fat, but you will lose water weight. Although that really wouldn’t be significant. Saunas are a nice way to relax though!

By sweating, this does a couple of things, it helps to flush the impurities out of your body through the sweat glands, and for many they use it to get rid of water weight.
