i recently rented a house and there is a hot tub on the deck, the landlord said it isnt hooked up to anything. what do you have to hook up to make it work?
also if i just put water in it and didnt turn it on, would it all drain out or be fine in there as long as i put chemicals in?

Probably would be fine but you’d eventually have the problem of needing to add chemicals to it to keep down the green.
You should be sure that it’s not hooked to anything because you don’t want an improperly wired hot tub filled with water. If it’s not grounded properly, it could cause a dangerous shock.
If you’re in the U.S., some are 120 but I believe most are 240. I’ve seen some have heat covers to put on when not in use, to keep the water from loosing the heat.

The only connection is an electric hookup to run the pump and heat the water. Most tubs have a valve to empty the water.

With no power to run the filtration the water will get mighty dirty!
